Put Him First

Here we are. The 20th day of the year.

How is everyone doing? Are you keeping up your resolution? I’m being completely honest it.

It is SOOOOO hard 😀

At times it seems completely impossible because of fatigue and just pure busyness throughout the day. I came upon a pattern though. Every day is not easy but when I put God first (praying, meditating, devotional, etc.) in the mornings, every things goes a LOT more smoothly

I mean think about it…

Nothing is impossible with God.

Now don’t misquote me. I’m not saying that when you put God first, everything automatically shifts into a happier shift. I still have bad days even when I do put Him first. It just reassures and reaffirms His shoulder to lean on and that His name is a strong tower. When I go in, I am safe…”rain or shine”.

What can you do during your morning routine that gives our Savior (even if it’s a fifteen minute block) the time He deserves? Allowing Him to go before us during our day? Giving Him thanks for the good and the bad? For this day, the day before, and the day after?

  • Start a devotional (Bible app)
  • Do a daily prayer journal challenge
  • Wake up earlier for prayer before you start your usual routine
  • Get on 1 year Bible plan

Maybe you have your own unique ways to put God first in your daily life. You might do your own devotions during the afternoon or on your lunch break. Leave some ideas down below. I’d love to hear about them.

(Side note: As you may or may not know, I will be making podcast episodes to verbally correlate with the written posts. Look out for it this coming week. I use the Anchor app to create, edit, and publish it. So, an easier way to listen to it might be to download it but I believe that it is now available on Google Podcasts and Spotify.

Stay awesome and God Bless!

I DID IT!

It’s official!! I’M A PODCASTER!!😁😁

Jk😂

I am just so excited because I finally made my first podcast episode that I have been dying to make but a little scared to create. Now it’s HERE!! I couldn’t be more grateful of God’s faithfulness, and giving me the courage to do this. It took me a while to accept that I’m an extrovert (some inner healing I had to go through which I’ll give you guys more info about later on 😉 ) but Jesus has helped me in the transition of acceptance. I am beyond thankful!

New Year, New _____

Everyone is still on the “new year, new me” wave. I mean, it’s only the ninth day of the year right? 😀

It’s time for something new. We are in a season of a fresh start or, as some would say, a clean slate. Maybe 2019 could be a beginning of your new workout routine, adapt a new hobby, or change your hair style/color.
Studies show that it takes about 3 weeks, or 21 days, to create a new habit. Maybe this is your year to make some new ones.

What about your spiritual life?

This could be the time to start a journey into some new habits within your walk with Christ. There can be specific times where you establish a block of prayer and or Bible reading, just to stay on top of your relationship with God. He wants us to be healthy physically, emotionally, and mentally.

But He also wants us to obtain a vibrant health spiritually.

2019 could be your year to draw closer to the Father. He loves you and wants your time. No matter who you are or what you’ve done.

Take advantage of the new slate.

Organizing Your New Year

Hey everybody! 😀

It is the third day of 2019. How are you enjoying it so far?

Some of you are going back to school or whatever occupation you have in a few days or weeks, and others have already gone back. Wherever you are at right now, I believe now is the perfect time to organize yourself.

Maybe you want to try implementing some new activities and habits into your daily life, or maybe you want to just change it completely. Either way, I am here to give you a few tips on organizing your life so things can run a little more smoothly.

  • For my on-the-go parents and big families, get a schedule and or a calendar app (Timepage, Google Calendar, Picniic)
  • For those who are kind of “old-school”, get a detailed 12 or 24 month planner book
  • Recommended for college students: (I have one myself actually) A whiteboard calendar; There are a ton available at Target for great reasonable prices
  • Make a to-do/checklist to keep track of all your necessary tasks for each day
  • Clean out your wallet/purse (It shouldn’t be stuffed to full capacity; You can lose track of what you have in there)
  • Lay out your clothes for the next day the night before (Or like me 😉 and lay out outfits for the week :D)
  • Re-pack your things needed for the day (lunches, backpacks, gym/duffel bags)
  • Try to implement a routine and stick to it. Sooner or later, your body and mind will adjust because you have a better idea of what should come next after each task instead of always having to guess and ponder.
  • Give yourself deadlines, no matter how big or small the task is (NEVER Procrastinate)

Hope these helped! Enjoy!

If you have any tips, comments, suggestions, and or questions, please leave them below! I would love to hear from you 🙂

Sincerely,

Ky ❤

Welcome!

Hey there!

I’m Ky, I am a Christian college kid from PA, and this is my lifestyle blog, The Daily K. It’s kind of like my not-so-secret diary, or journal if you will 😀

I’m majoring in psychology, which in case you didn’t know is all about the science of the brain. A place where all of my thoughts like to hang out and throw “ragers” every now and again. (College slang…don’t worry about it 😉 )

But when I’m not being all Einstein-y, you can find me napping, dancing, or laying around in my dorm catching up on about three Netflix shows at a time.

I hope you guys enjoy my posts and feel free to leave comments and suggestions in the box below!

Thanks

– K
